I Went To The NH 4/20 Rally

Ah, 4/20. A day where stoners all over the country get together and light one up in a communal effort to stick it to the man. Well, on this 4/20 no other state rang more freely than New Hampshire.

At least 100 people showed up at the steps of the New Hampshire State House in Concord. Drum circles and music lined the sidewalk as New Hampshires most colorful and peaceful residents took to sending the message that the unhealthy and unnecessary laws against cannabis should be put to an end.

Don’t be fooled, these are some of the kindest individuals this state could produce, but they’re also some of the most strong willed when dealing with the issues that matter for this state. Their commitment to legalization should be used as a standard for any state citizens attempting to reform the laws for their community.

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet with them and discuss why they decided to come to the state house and protest.

Im in favor of decriminalizing the therapeutic and responsible use of cannabis. If you go back and look at the origins to prohibition, it goes back to the 20-30’s, it goes back to a handful of greedy individuals who looked at it as a threat to their respected industries. I think it should be legalized everywhere. Im against the concept of big-pharma creating more disease than they are healing. Cannabis has been shown to heal a variety of conditions. The hemp plant, itself has so many uses that would disrupt the power structure in a lot of industries.

I’ve been smoking marijuana since I was 16. Ive tried other drugs and marijuana does the best for me. Im not drunk and fighting, Im stoned and mellow, when we have a war, i think each side needs to smoke a shit ton of weed and then reconsider. I think the lord put this on this Earth to use and not abuse. Its the “Lords Herb”. -David Everette Gaya

Were here to clarify the injustices done to our society and to humanity with the discriminatory fundamentals that were developed to criminalize cannabis. Its a well-being of the soul and body. I think we have to change that and make that legal. Adults should have that choice. By no means is cannabis a gateway. – Rick Naya
